New fully working setup to Traktor 3

Thanks to Cycokraut really skilled programmer that released his java code to interface Traktor 3 with BCD , of course you have to use it with Midi Yoke we we just can forget Bome Midi Translator that in that last version isn't anymore freeware .

Now Beringher fans have one more option to buy Traktor.
The only shadow we found is handling loops ,but you all now how many features Traktor give us and is really impossible manage them with our console , the only solution for aggressive performance is to use the mouse.

Download installation application.

thanks very much to make this blog. Im now buying a bcd and i wold like to make you some questions, if you dont mind...
I´m not a especialist in computers, just a light user, you know? so all this things of "java" installation of other programs to do midi... i feel very insecure with this, besides the fear of have some problems, like bugs, crashes..
So wich setup you recomend for me?
The original software of bcd2000?

and wich one you use and why? what are the better things for you?

thank you very much for the attention. im from rio de janeiro.. sorry dont speak italy.. yet! ;)

Hi Lucio
You can use my setup for sure, it's not cause any crash.
But my setup is only to use Traktor 3, it's not useful to use B-Dj.
B-Dj don't need any java installation to work.
The good idea will be to test B-dj FIRST and to use Traktor only if B-DJ non have all that you want.

hi.. Thanks for the answer!
I got my bcd yesterday and was all day testing.
I was used to use traktor 2.5.3. Some weeks ago I installed the traktor 3 and i think theres too many features i will not use and its very complicated.

about the b-dj software... is really very simple, but it satisfyes me in the operation part. But there are 2 main (and big) problems, for me:
- the bpm analysis is crap. its a pitty i can´t "import" the bpm info from the traktor... i spent so many months setting the correct bpms! :(
- the serch is very bad. I need the search of traktor, wich includes the TAGS, so its important for me because i create a system of tags to help me find groups of music (ex: all afrikan music have the tag "afk" in comments, so i can have they all in the track listing very easy, got it?)

So, what you recommend me? I like the loops, but i really prefer to use traktor3 or the 2.5.3, because of the search. Please give me some tips... I will also read again your blog, to try to understand better. thank you!

(i hope this discussion is interess of more people and im not fulling your blog with silly things.. ;)

I had same problem with tags.
I've used ID3-tagit to copy my original tags to B-dj tags.
example:
I've copyed my bpm tag to bdj album tag , so I can sort my mp3 by bpm.

Try to use Traktor 2.6 instead Traktor 3, is more easy.

Well, there now 3 options to get BCD2000 work with Traktor3:

- The famous DJ Fresha's setup (with Bome's MIDI Translator)

- The infamous Angular Momentum Jogwheel Fix

- And now... Midi Rules by Cycocraut.

Which one works most stable?
Coz the BCD2000 itself isn't stable through crap-drivers for now...

Blogger Lucio said...

thanks for the tip! i´m right now searching for the ID3-tagit.
But so you use the b-dj to play, actually? not the traktor 3? what do you prefer, personally?
do you use it profissionally? What you think about some djs that say you cant use it profissionally, because of the instability of the system?
thanks!

Cycocraut is the best solution

@lucio k:
I've used B-DJ in previous parties
Now I use Cycocraut - Traktor solution

is really nice, but with the Cycocraut solution for traktor3 my mic and line in didn't work.. and i need a line in (in case there´s a bug or crash in the controller > notebook)
any solution or suggestion?

maybe a backup ipod plugged via rca cable direct on stereo/amp. i use this solution in case the system crashes, wich never happened using cyco solution midi rules.

ı am bored because ıdon't have enough information like good bcd users.

@A-Ben

Hi, and welcome to Traktor family ;-)

You need to follow this instructions step by step:

http://www.cycosolutions.com/midi-rules/BCD2000-Traktor3_cycokrauts-mb4guns_flavor_2007-02-05/documentation.html

It's easy , but it will be a good idea to read it with care.

Hi, just wondering what this means:
(*)Set BCD-2000 to B-DJ mode.

(It's one of the instructions to follow?)

Thanks

Blogger bcd2000 said...

@dobbo

Usually the BCD2000 is just setted on BDJ Mode, you can check this doing double click on BCD icon near at the Windows clock.
There are two modes, BDJ and Advanced, you need bdj mode only.

Hello all BCD2000 users!

First of all I would like to thank you guys who made this site! Its wonderfull and I dont think I would have made it without you!

Im using the BCD2000 with Traktor 3.3.1 as in the solution by "Daksha".

Everything works perfectly exept one thing...
after about 2-5min of playing Traktor starts working VEERY slow. The visual of the track in the decks move about half as fast as they should and there is no audio. If i restart the application it works fine for another 2-5min and then the problems return.

At first I thought it might be the Latency but I tried adjusting it but with no result...

I have a AMD Turion, 1.60 GHz, 1.37GB RAM so I feel it should work...

Anyone who recognices this problem?
I read somewhere about setting up the USB-power supply for the app to run smooth but I didnt really understand what that ment...

Please, if someone knows please explain for me... i really want to play with my new toy :D

Thanks again for a great forum on BCD2000!!

Hi Everyone!
Thanx for the great job of making the BCD 2000 site & kudos to Cycokraut for his effort ;)
Now guys I need some help...
1. after using Traktor and Cyco BCD solution for some time... I have to click every button two times to get the effect. What is is and how to controll it.
2. For unknown reason my system does not see WDM drivers in BCD (thus cannot play windows sounds). Only ASIO is there. How to correct this? /of course reinstalling drivers solved nothing/
3. How to clear all Windows Registry midi garbage? Every time I install and deinstall some software using midi, something stops working properly (Midi Rules lately got screved by V-DJ installation and deinstallation). I do not want to reinstall windows! How to clrer registry to the point it is "as new".

thanx for any clues

mike.

OK, I have figured out one of the problems... the "toggle on" in Traktor. It is incredible, but the behringer driver goes "advanced" instead of "b-dj" mode from time to time useing Cycokraut solution by itself for no reason. Moreover the driver when opened shows "b-dj mode" on the status window.
Solution: click the "B-dj mode" one again, and Traktor will imediately start the normal work.
It happens every 15 - 20 minutes on my comp. It really can screw your set, since you may cue not in beat from time to time. DO ANYONE HAVE THIS PROBLEM? IS THERE A PERMANENT WORKAROUND? It is on Vista and D610 Dell laptop. Newest drivers

Can't be dealing with the JAVA side of things with the Cycocraut setup (not my personal preference, not slating it so don't take it I'm flaming or anything).

Bome's MIDI Translator (big up DJ Fer for the recognition), and Traktor 3.4.1 works 100% solid, even had it running on an IBM Thinkpad T40 and played out recently, people thought I was on CDJ's or on vinyl, and when they see what I was doing, they were quite blown away. All the effect dial in Traktor 3.4.1 can be used on the BCD, I simply use the analog input buttons as my 'next / prev master effect' selector, and the 4 dials & buttons map to the screen at that time - even the LEDs feedback what Traktor has lit up, so no worries there.

Will be blatting up on my website soon (http://www.lab-one-recordings.co.tv) and will even do a quick Youtube vid as well showing my setup and how I've done it all.
