Daksha's BCD23k: may be THE solution !?!?

Maybe there's a final solution to what generated by now an 85 pages long thread on the Native Instruments forum: BCD2000 & Traktor Programming http://www.native-instruments.com/forum_us/showthread.php?t=34513This solution is relly simple: it uses Angular Momentum's Jogwheel fix combined with the latest Traktor 3.3.1, considering that this release comes with a bundled native BCD-3000 .tks file. Modifing a little this file, adapting it for working with the 2000 and the Jogwheel Fix, lets your consolle work in native BDJ-Mode !!!Functions at the bottom of the consolle (decks & mixer) are as you see them on its panel, while the top of it (FXs, Key Locks, Inputs & Monitoring System) works mostly as on the BCD-3000.In the package there are 2 .tks files, one for Midi and one to add very usefull keyboard shortcuts, so you can even forget at home your mouse! You'll find also setup instructions in english & italian, and last, a .jpg that you must print on auto-adhesive paper if you want labels for the top part of your new consolle !

You can download the complete package here.

Hi, I'm the author of this solution, and I'm really happy to know it's working.
For the part of the setup you don't agree, you can simply edit my bundled .tks.
Pay only attention to one thing: don't delete midi messages going to "output", 'cause they are for leds, and if you delete, to have them back & working you'll have to reimport my .tks and start over again, or have a look to the manual to write them back by hand, one by one. Anyway refer to Traktor manual to learn about customizing & saving your own .tks, once you learned, you'll have total control on your own setup. For example, I've my own wich is different from the one you downloaded: I've Indipendent channel filters on knobs 1 & 4, button 2 to activate the master fx & knobs 2 & 3 to adjust it ! Quite complicated but useful in a live situation!!!
Have fun !

I use bcd2000/T3.3.2/midi rules(cycokraut), my .tks is personalized, and when I press “on air” the Right jog show the same message as Left CC96,it should do CC96 left jog wheel back/forth , and CC? RJW back/forth…right? I want to use this button for the “loops”(or for cd-dj jogs),like the “phones split” is for the “browser”(each one alone)….

check it out!

just tried the daksha´s solution,it works great!the midi rules sometimes stops responding when scratching/ crossfading, the only thing is that midi rules allows you to use the "phones split"/"back to top" as a shift button,(
&this can be very usefull for deck FX)...
see you soon...

forget the Midi rules...this is the PERFECT solution,no hangs,no interrupts,no stop respondings...thank´s for sharing this Daksha!!!GOD BLESS YOU!!!i just cnaheg the .tks so i can use both deck FX A or B,check out the .jpg for details/mapping!!
thank´s again daksha!!!

Hello all!!

In first time i want to thank to all people that make this things possible, i give you all my admiration!

I have a comment to the Daksha's solution:

1. I experience that the "mid" eq. knobs on deck A and B is not working, it doesn't make nothing.

2. I have the same problem on kill buttons, these buttons make nothing when is pressed, it's normal on this mapping?

I'm trying to personalize the .tks file via traktor but i'm a novice using this software and is taking me a lot of time, possibly in next days i'll have some results.

I've tried this solution with traktor 3.2, 3.2.1 and 3.2.3 versions and i have the same results. The jog wheel is working fine.

Some one can help me about this little problem?

Thanks in advance and thanks a lot another time!

pd: sorry for my poor english! :)

Hi again!

Coming back to home i've already tested traktor with this good solution and now i can say that's working perfectly!!!

I've solved the problem with EQ knows and kill buttons changing the EQ style to "classic" on mixer panel and works all with no problem!!!

Thanks again for this really good solution!!!

I finally not modified .tks files, but i uploaded my files if someone want a correct mapping for traktor. I think this files are originals from Daksha's, but im not really sure because i've tested a lot of configurations to a final satisfactory one.

Hi, thanks for the fix...So do we need the jog wheel fix also I guess?
I tested it but it requires Midi Yoke and the server it's located on is down it seems :(

Hello,

this works only if I also set the BCD2000 to 'active' in Traktor. And then the jogwheel fix doesn't work. Any idea what can be wrong?

I'm using Bome's Midi Translator and a Traktor 3.4.1 preset I've built which converts the jogwheels from scratch/seek wheels to pitch control wheels, also have all the FX running too. Looking at butchering a BCF2000 I just got of ebay for £15 (had a couple of faders missing, 2 broken pots) which I'm going to see if the LEDs in the dials can be used to monitor Traktor MIDIfeedback, and to see if the encoders can 'read' the MIDI settings of the effects from Traktor (3.4.1 sends MIDI data back to the BCD2000, so LED controls can be 'copied'). Even built the Bome's map to light up all the LEDs on startup, so you know that the Bome's connection has been made. All on an IBM T40 Thinkpad. Used this setup for a dj session on 5th Feb, worked flawless, no glitches, no hashes, no trainwrecks, just solid. Will let you know if all goes well with the modding (BCD really does need these LED rings) -
