Why purchase VirtualDJ is an excellent idea.

VirtualDJ is one of the best software for dj in the world and one of the best choice especially by younger dj , who see in this software a perfect way to express imagination and creativity. Unlike products such as Traktor, which are more dedicated to linear fashioned dj , who not searching for extreme use of effects. Virtual Dj in this case find a competitor only in Deckadance. But the very plus of VDJ came from Moramax plugin, called Mapper, which is now at the release 3.3. This plugin makes it an ideal tool for all holders of BCD3000. The same mapper is also available for BCD2000 of course, but we now prefer the last one. Thanks to this plugin the BCD is now supported at 99% (unfortunately still remains outside the compatibility with the microphone).

VDJ is stable and mature, but especially adds a flood of useful functions thanks to a splitting of the keys of BCD. Thanks to a dual function PLAY MODE / BROWSE MODE, the functions become so many, that there are no limits to creativity and imagination of modern dj. This without using the mouse. How specific the same Moramax in a post in their forum, "you can browsing files and folders directly from the console' by the use of jogs wheel.
Another useful function is to use BCD3000 kill leds to signal loops lenghts. More ... you can adjust the sensitivity of the jog, the pitch bend values and many other functions ...... "
Unfortunately we cannot tryed the Moramax plugin, becouse this extension is available only for registered users, and in full pro version. It not works on demo version.
In conclusion if your intention is to transform the BCD3000 in a perfect equipment to your DJ job, now VDJ is the right (but not unique) choice.

Hi bcd2000,
what you wrote is very true and applies for the BCD2000 controler as well. I've tried the demo of djdecks and was very surprised that it offers nearly same features with similar comfort as you described above. I'm just in the middle of deciding between these two products and you didn't make it easier :-D
Anyway, thanks for the article and keep up the good work with this blog.
Cheers,
c48

@djfran

DjDecks is one of the best software in stability.
It's developed out of Windows core, like a videogames, so is more stable. (The best in stability is Visualdiscomix)

Hi again!

I've finally tested dj decks and i don't like very much... i think it have a oldie look for the actual dj'ing software...

For the moment i will continue using Virtual DJ with my bcd2000, i think is (for the moment) the best dj sofware in easy use, sound quality, compatibility, usefulness, stability and simplycity.

I've tested the "moramax" plug-in and i've uninstalled it. I don't like how it works with my bcd2000 and i prefer the native config of Vdj but i have to say that this plugin is worked hard. ;)

Hi again!

Only just one more comment to refresh more info...

Only to how that not knows... VirtualDJ have a very useful thing to control our "sessions" history, on the "virtualdj" folder on "my documents" it creates some files with the history of all the days using the aplication and all the tracks played. I think is very useful to control our mixes and make playlists.

Enjoy!

Hello,

It's possible you'll have to check the performance settings of your virtualdj program. It's possible you need to change the settings related to sound quality or performance.

Also some sound efects make some "strange" sound using our bcd2000 cards. I only use the effects that sound well and never "crash" my system.

I remember that you can change the crossfader type on virtualdj, have you tried to do this? Possibly you'll find the best fader config for you.

Hi BCD2000

"This info is for Virtual DJ users using Win7 32bit and the BCD2000 mixer"

I bought my BCD2000 a few days ago. New in this concept I found a few problems in the software and hardware. Searching on the web I found some usefull info and got it fixed. Here's the specs of my system: HP530 with CENTRINO CORE 2 DUO (not Celeron as most of this laptops are) with 2Gig mem, Windows 7 Enterprise (32bit) and VDJ 5.2 Full.
Right, installed the drivers from the CD I found that if you used a certain USB port for the BCD2000 then it will ONLY WORK ON THAT PORT. No matter what you do (change the port and reload the drivers won't work, even if you uninstall them!).
Downloaded the new drivers from Berhinger's site sort-of sort the problem.
To get it working right, turn off the mixer, then you need to run the setup under "Windows XP SP3 Compatability Mode". At a certain stage the setup won't continue until you turn the mixer back on again. It will say something about "not digitally signed...", just continue it.
And there you go!
Another useful tip: If you use it at a club with some heavy "discolights" flashing on and off, try to use power from a seperate wallsocket as I found that if I turn on ec. a strobelight my VDJ just stop playing. Sometimes a powerdip on the same powerline causes the BCD2000 soundcard to "malfunction" and VDJ "looses" the BCD2000 soundcard and stop working (very, VERY sensitive). The Berhinger U-control UCA200 USB soundcard has the same problem (I used it for the headphones before I got the mixer). To solve this problem I use a POWERED 7-port usb hub (those with the 2 amp 5 volt powersupply works nice) and solve the problem.
For me this works well, and hope this info will come in very handy for someone.
Will let you know if more problems pops up!

Enjoy!
